ANOTHER GREAT EVENT

“I want to thank the entire team of the Friends of India Association (FIA) for another great event: the festival of Diwali on October 19.

As our member Simone had earlier written: “We were entertained by great singers, musicians and young, gracious dancers wearing colorful, traditional dresses. The decor was splendid, the atmosphere joyful.

The FIA is one of the greatest contributors to Leisure World's entertainment and cultural scene. It promotes and enhances the understanding of one of the numerous cultures that form our community. The FIA is always happy to share and explain the various aspects of Indian culture. In the past, we had the pleasure of listening to authentic singers, musicians and a great tenor. At each event, we are being regaled with authentic Indian food.”

Large number of people worked very hard to make it a grand success!

A very large number of people came up to personally congratulate FIA for the outstanding event.

I wish to thank the LW Lifestyle officials including Adam Mason and Jasmin for their very good cooperation for managing the technology, along with Siva and Gunjan. All thanks to all of the team including our Council members who worked so hard to make it a resounding success.

One of the most interesting aspects about this event was that a large number of the beautiful dances were performed phenomenally by the grandchildren of many of our members. Kusum Shukla also helped a lot with the cultural program. Her son Sudhir Shukla also plays the tabla. The music and singing continued even after dinner. This ensures that in future also we can continue doing these programs with a lot of in-house talent.
